Hey Guys N Gals,
Just wondering if this has happened to any of you.
Went for a nice long ride untill I needed to fill up then turned back home. Started running crapy almost like misfireing then stalled out. I look down and see gas pooring out of carb. So I get home by turning gas on and off by the petcock, On when starting to die and off when gas leaks out. I know its a bad idea since gas is pooring all over my pipes, but i had no tools with me. Take carb apart and the float somehow worked its way off, The screw holding the float bar was still in just must of came loose. So I guess its time to buy a tool kit to take along.

Check the float to make sure it doesn't have a pin hole in it. That could be what sunk it. Submerge in some water and make sure its buoyant.

I would not buy one of the pre-made bike tool kits.
I went over my bike and made a list of the accessible nuts, bolts, etc; and of the parts that typically need adjustment etc. Then i made up a tool kit for those things.
For everything else there is the cell phone and a good friend; or a tow truck.
yep i agree with setting up your own tool kit just gotta find the rite size bag haha, Id rather walk the bike home than use a tow truck...well i guess it all depends how many states away from home i am
