I have a Mukuni card the overflow on the float bowl has gas running out anybody have any ideas as to what might cause it. Was running fine till this. Got up to go to work and gas just started to flow out of the overflow
Typically this is a sign that debris has gotten into the carb and is lodged in the float needle valve inlet holding it open and allowing the gas to fill the float bowl and not stop, thus it comes out of the overflow tube just like it was designed to. Some floats are hollow and can also become "waterlogged" with gas holding the float down and keeping the needle valve open.
A word of caution .... a huge overflow can wash through the carb and fill the intake and cylinders causing lots of damage, especially if you attempt to start it ... it can cause an explosion!
If you don't have experience and a manual take it in for repairs. You can make a mess trying to adjust it, It can go the other way where you adjust it incorrectly and it'll stalls while on the road, or whenever you accelerate.
Thanks For the help. To date i have cleaned the needle jet & the main jet waiting for a rebuild kit to get here before i start taking the float chamber off. The bike runs but not without gas coming out the overflow

It is the needle and seat valve that needs replacing. That will be in the rebuild kit. You did good to not take it apart early. Everytime I do that I forget how it came apart/goes back together because that week that went by between disassembly and reassembly fogs up my memory, ha ha.
