Default 1973 XLCH Sportster

Got to love the kickstart only! Had to rebuild the carb and do some maintenance to get it running good and safe. Starts on first kick after a priming kick almost every time. It hasn't winded me yet! LOL I have put about 300 miles on it so far in February here in WV. Plan to ride it again tomorrow! I have new handgrips and controls for it. The left side controls are anodized black, but the right one is chrome. Gonna go chrome for both. Needs a new master cylinder anyways. Have new switches and turn signals also. Have a set of driving lights coming for it this week, so I won't have any trouble seeing or being seen! Still have some decisions to make. It still has points. I am considering going electronic ignition, but still not sure yet. Has pros and cons both ways. Have a great riding season!

Yes it was the stock exhaust. I drilled out the baffels and it sounded good.

Here's my 71 XLH.. she was pretty well cut up when I got her, and sported about 20 layers of flat black paint. Still tinkering around with her.. think I'm going to swap out that rear fender very soon.

Here is a picture of my early 84. I rode it for 23 years and sold it to my grandaughter. If I keep reading this forum I may have to go get it back from her. LOL. It only has 50,000 miles on it and looks almost new yet. It is all stock except for the air cleaner, mufflers, and seat that all came from Harley. A really fun bike.
