Default Rear Tire Question

Starting to get my second ironhead on the road for next summer. Its a 72 basically stock, been in a shed for 25 plus years stole it for 800 bucks! I plan to replace the shocks with some struts to get it down low(my other bike is a hardtail) depending on what tire i go with i am going to install 12 inch or down to 10 inch struts, stock shocks are 14 inch. So it will be lowered 2 to 4 inches. I do not want to cut up another frame to hardtail. It currently has a freakin tractor tire on the back! Since it will be low I was thinking about a 120/90/16 for the new rear tire size. I will be keeping the stock rear fender and how it mounts. I did some research here and some other places and have read that a 130/90/16 is tight on a stock setup thats why i was thinking the 120. I would like to have the most rubber i can fit under stock fender with no issues. So let me know what you guys think. 120/90/16 or the 130/90/16. Thanks in advance for any help.

I am running Avon RoadRiders. The 120/90/18 is significantly larger than the 120/80/18, both taller and wider, more so than one would expect when comparing an 80 and a 90.

My '72 CH ran both 5.00x16 and 5.10x16, which are the "old" measurements and are essentially the same as the 130/90/16/ Yes, it was a tight fit, but I never had a problem. I ran stock shocks, FX shocks, and struts when I had the stock frame.
