@ piniongear, float is 3/16. did you see my description on how the float sat in the gas? what are your thoughts about that? tried with brick under kickstand today and still leaks. but w/o bowl on i can turn on the gas and stop flow when i raise float with my finger.
My thoughts on how the float sits in a can of gas............ Quite normal because the float is heavier on one side than on the other. As long as there is no fuel INSIDE the float it is going to be fine and should do it's job......which is closing the float needle.
I would try bending the tang just a little bit to slightly less than 3/16 and see what change happens (if any). Raising the float tab with your finger is putting a lot more pressure on the needle than the float exerts, so that does not prove much.
You may have a bad needle which does not want to seat properly.
If you suspect that to be possible, by all means buy a new needle and seat set and see if that cures the problem. pg
