Trying to find definitive pics/ answers on rims/ hubs on 1947 knuckleheads. Painted or chrome? Internet didn’t tell me much.... some chrome, some black.
40F-705 is the correct rim 1947 Kelsey Hayes they were available and installed as both chrome and black in the 16 inch series
the spoke nipple is the short type 4 sided square - 16 spokes are 6 23/32 long - hubs third series in the star series 1944 to 1957 and the hubs are spot welded - seamless center and they are not brazed the tube centers to flanges and the flanges are consider soft on the out side edges not cut sharp no grease fitting in the star 1937 to 1955
