starter troubles
Have a 75 1000 Sporty, the starter is almost a hit or miss when starting almost 50/50 chance wont turn over. could i have a starter going out or have other troubles.

It’s the starter. I had the same issues with mine on my 08 Ultra. There are several things which could be wrong, several tests which could be done to replace the part. I figured if one part is going out, how long before the rest would, so I replaced the entire starter. Took an hour of work, no big deal. Now I have done it, I could change the starter in maybe 30 mines.

Easy Fix maybe
Check your ground first, clean all the connections first. Then pull the stater, hook a battery up and give it a few shots.. If all that works out, buy a good stater, spend big one time..
