I am currently researching the 1947 EL Knucklehead. What I am looking for right now are any links or references to original advertisements for this make and model, along with any information on where I might find original options available, (Paint color, etc)

Some original advertisement might be found on FleaBay.
Original options, etc. Look in Bruce Palmers book.

he is about to release a new version of the book, I would concider waiting a few months.

I was surfing the web and found the perfect book for you on a website about knuckleheads. (fyi: http://knuckleheadforsale.com) The book Harley Davidson knuckleheads: color history is written by the Greg Fields. The author did his homework and the book contains lots of photographs.
