They are a ton of fun to ride. Acceleration is insane. 0-60 in 3 seconds.

I don't know if I would use the word "insane". Three seconds puts it in the same class as a lot of all-day comfortable touring bikes: FJR1300, Concours, R1200RT, R1200GS, Bandit 1250.

I've got better use for a day and a few hundred bucks.
I see everyone commenting about the range, but most riders I know rarely ride 100 miles a day. And if they do they often take a substantial break anyway so all they need is some simple planning to take their break near a charging station which is not necessarily at an HD dealership.

But I guess with the rental it would be fun to try and make a route that went in a big circle past Fast DC chargers, ride for an hour, plug it in for an hour and snooze next to it, repeat for 24 hrs and see how far you can go. An electric iron butt challenge.
I have planned a route to try to do a SS1K on a Livewire and it is really tight. One of the dealers near me has one and I believe the owner bought it. He is a LD rider and is already speaking to HD to ask if doing back to back quick charges will damage the battery and if the battery would be covered by the warranty. The manual apparently says after two quick charges to do a long charge to condition the battery.

Maybe I'll see f I can borrow it and be the second to do one

It's a real easy 0-60 in 3 seconds. All those other bikes can do it with a professional rider or well trained drag racer. You have to get a good launch and perfect shift.

The computer on the Livewire does the work for you. Just twist your wrist.

So I can actually do 0-60 on a live wire in 3 seconds where I can't on a fjr1300

I’m gonna guess that 80% of motorcycle riders never ride more than 1 hour per ride. For them, the LiveWire works. But, for someone like me that has 80% of my riding for over 100 miles it wouldn’t work.

I wouldn't use it for touring but it's a perfect bike for back in forth to work

You don't shift gears other than select first when going 0-60. My honda will do over a hundred mph in first.

Which Honda? Goldwing? Shadow? NM4?

I can agree with that. I just think, in my opinion, I wouldn't describe the acceleration as "insane" when there are a lot of non-sport-bikes that are pretty close to the same capability. Definitely fast, though.
