I am hoping someone can assist me. I've been out of work for 2 years since being laid off by UBS Financial Services. I was a project manager in information technology for 22 years. Now my age (54) and what I made previously are keeping me from getting work.
I am looking for work - any kind of work - in the New York/New Jersey metro area or in the Philly metro area. I can do all kinds of work - not just I.T. I am very mechanically inclined and would be willing to be an apprentice or working partner in a motorcycle/automobile repair shop, or to be an apprentice in HVAC or carpentry. I could also do sales depending on what it is. My unemployment ran out after one extension back in August 2008.
If anyone has any steady work in the central NJ or NYC or Philly metro area that I could interview for, I'd be grateful. I have no criminal record, am reliable and hard working and do not use illegal drugs (a shot or two of Jack Daniel's on a Friday night is still legal I believe...)
I have "met" many decent people on this Forum in the past 3 years so I figured I'd ask.
