Got a question for the M8 crowd. My ignition can only be locked if the switch is in the fork lock position. If I put it in any other position, I can put the key in but it will not turn to the lock position. Are there any other people that have this problem or is it standard on the 17s ?

They've been that way for a while.
My 99, I could turn the key to lock, but it did not lock the ignition switch in place until I locked my forks. My 08, behaves like yours does

 

Well my previous touring bike, an 11 RGU, would lock in the off position.
