That is just a play on words, as your stock bike tunes in real time too. That does not mean what most would think it means. There are no real time changes going on here other than the trim values being adjusted from the O2 sensors. The ECM is not being reprogrammed and the VE values being corrected and stored as you do when you collect data, modify the calibration and reprogram the ECM with new starting values in the calibration.
So what is this new fancy doodad supposed to do that others can't?

This is not any different than the same feature that Rev Performance and DynoJet have tried pushing as an add-on to the ECM tuner. Rev Performance called it EMS I believe and DynoJet calls it Target Tune. Now HD calls it Smart Tune Pro automatic tuning module. I think that Rev Performance have given up on it now. It works fine for what it was supposed to do but everyone has tried to make it something its not and never will be. It cannot tune your bike as you ride, it does feed information to the ECM to make small adjustments to the fuel trim values, that's it. This is just how O2 sensors work, so what you get is the ability to do it over a larger range of fuel mixture values than the stock O2's are capable of. At least Harley is limiting it to only work with preset calibrations with a preset engine build.
IMHO you would be much better off spending the money to have the bike properly tuned by someone with the knowledge and equipment to do it right, or learning how to do it yourself.
I agree with what has been said but I will not speculate or pass judgement on it until I see how it is installed. All these numbers mean squat to me because I am not a mechanic and don't try to be. It's the seat of the pants that tells me good or bad so let's see what happens with it. Who knows and if we are lucky, something good mite come out of it.
Yea, I'm pretty much done with mine too. The stage II on top of the M8 is more than I need. Maybe a different seat at some point, but other than that I think I'm set.
went with an FP 3 for my wife's sporty. And I couldn't be any happier with the performance and ease of use.
What do you guys have against using it, instead of what has been mentioned here.
Asking because it's always nice to learn something new.
Thanks!

What do we have against the FP3 or the HD Smart Tune Pro?
