Not me, but then again I haven't had to fill up yet due to the overwhelming amount of snow we have up here. Does it happen to you all the time or only once in a while? I find if you put the nozzle in deep until its almost full, then slowly back it out and add the fuel a little at a time it should help.
Got the opposite problem, been doing a lot of around town riding and man my M8 RK is tough on city driving mileage. Getting about 25-28mpg in town, my riding it like a dyna may not be helping but it's more fun.
OP, have no issues fueling this pig it likes gas stations.
No splashing on my '09 FLHX, but I usually grab a paper towel from the w/s wash area and slap it around fill tube to catch any escaping drops. Also, never put nozzle @ 100% open...can turn into a very dangerous situation.

So jealous, we just had another snow storm that dumped another foot of snow on us. I'm hoping that is the last of the snow. I have been riding by the 10 April every year once the roads have been street cleaned to remove sand and salt. I just have to be patient for another three weeks or so.
My wife's M8 SGS will be delivered tomorrow. That gives me a bit of time to do some mods to her bike before we start riding up here. I can't wait to hit the roads.
I had the same problem at first, then I realized slowing down eliminated the splash back and the air bubble. Eventually it will bubble up near the end and I rock the bike back and forth and fill it slowly, then rock the bubble, and repeat. Put in 5.8 gal today and it took three minutes.
My '15 I'd hold the nozzle pointing off to the side or pointing rearward so the gas wasn't directed to the pump to keep most backsplashing down. When about full, just gotta go slow and shake the bike to burp it if you want it as full as possible
Don't squeeze the handle so friggin hard. Are you in a hurry? You're pumping it in too fast and it's splashing back at you.
I don't, I'm never in a hurry! I barely squeeze the handle, just enough to get the gas flowing. It takes me longer to fill up than it does the guys I'm riding with! Just when it get near full it starts spitting little drops out...
