Post your Oil Temps
After installing my Dakota Digital Gauges and being able to see my oil temperature I was wondering what it should be. While riding Saturday, I was going 75 mph for about 45 minutes. It was 104 degrees here in Phoenix at the time and I was surprised that my oil temperature was a constant 180 degrees. When I pulled off the highway and got caught at a traffic light, it went to 220 degrees while I was waiting for it to turn green. After taking off, and going the last 10 miles at 65mph (change in speed limit) it dropped quickly back to 180 degrees. My conclusion is that these engines are very efficient while moving but scary in stop and go traffic.
Normal unning oil temp is 160-380degs. Head/engine temps can easily get over 300degs.
This is why I added the oil cooler fan, which helps in stop and go traffic.

If you don't have a dedicated sensor it could be you are seeing "ECM Engine Temp" which is actually a result from an algorithm based on measurements from several sensors. Or it could be taking a reading directly from the one ET sensor.
