I wasn't really complaining about the heat, although I do want to address that issue asap. My '15 FLHTK got the stage 1 treatment when new so I can't really compare the Rushmore to the M8. Like I said before, my '15's ET's rarely ever exceeded 217 if the bike was in motion. This M8 in stock form exceeded 300 degrees several times on a 80 degree day and the fans ran pretty regularly. To be fair the bike runs like a top...tons of useable power with a very smooth delivery. It pisses me off that we have to deal with lean bikes from the factory but I'm sure the EPA is convinced they're saving the world one Harley at a time.

Obviously, you get paid too much! I'll have to look into that...maybe after a ride on my 10 year old bike (due to lack of discretionary funds).

Guys, this is what happens when your boss cyber stalks you. No boss, I don't make too much but that last union contract raise sure didn't hurt!!!

It's not just harley. Sling your leg over a Ducati for a day of city driving.

I havent put a powervision on my 2017 sgs yet. But its in the near future. My last bike 103 dyna ran about 240 on hot days with stage 1. Never seen it get over 250 but a time or two. An a road the pee out of it on some hot days. 300 is a bit extreme i would think. Either way the cats/stock exhaust will be leaving my bike very soon.

Of that I have no doubt. That said, I always wanted one.

Hey guys, don't get your panties in a bunch. Since the temp sensor is in a different area the temperatures cannot be compared.
Cases in point:
The old MM system didn't even go to its run map until 284 degs!
The Sportsters don't come on line until, IIRC, over 300 degs.
That said, none of the bike overheat at those temps, just different locations and distance from the combustion chamber.
Hope this relieve some of the paranoia,
Bob

You've got a way with words there Bob...my "panties" are not in a bunch, nor am I paranoid. I simply made an observation of my new M8. Is that OK or should I check with you before posting next time? Let me know, k?

On a lighter note, wifey and I put on 250 miles today...weather conditions almost identical to the other day when I posted except it was more humid. I decided to open the vents on my Lower's and my ET's ran 25 degrees cooler. Funny, as I don't remember the vents having much, if any affect on my Rushmore ET's...weird.

I stated "guys" so it wouldn't be taken personally. It was said in jest and sorry it rubbed you.
Hopefully you at least got something positive from my post?
Bob
Guess you could take it personal lol
"I expected it to be hot as it's completely stock, but ET's over 300 on a warm (not hot) day where the bike was constantly in motion and never hung up at stop lights or in heavy traffic? Holy crap!

I was going to only do slip ons w/ tune and apes but I guess I'm going to have to address that damn cat also. Oh well, it's only money!"
