I took the primary cover off and found some real fine substance looks like grit.
Clutch starting slipping this morning.
I stopped and got some syn3 and dumped the mobil 1 I am gonna fill it up with syn3 and ride, hope it stops slipping, but the fine grit looking substance bothers me ?
Anyone have any ideas/thoughts besides not using MOBIL 1 In the primary!!!!!!
joe
Make sure the clutch is adjusted properly both internally and at the clutch cable The Mobil 1 isn't be the issue although I would be running a primary fluid as opposed to motor oil in my Primary.

I recommend the HD Formula + for the primary. NO MOTOR OIL.....
It only takes a few minutes to check the internal clutch adjustment. People have been running motor oil in their primaries for years with no issues. Not that I would but they have come that way for years.
Hyd clutch. Little or no adjustment.
Some grit is to be expected unless you have an overwhelming amount of grit in your primary.
Motor oil in the primary of certain type or specification could cause your clutch to slip.

M8s don't have an adjustable clutch as it is hydraulic and there is no adjustment.
I personally wouldn't use motor oil in the primary at all. Either use formula plus or primary chain case oil. Ams oil makes it as well as Spectro.
