assuming you were nowhere near those rpm limits during this recent break in miles..?? and it's started all over again anyway....well..anyway, what a major disappointment man, I'd be pretty damn upset they can't make these engines and components work together normal..total bs
well I kept it under 3500 up to 500 miles and then eased it up to 4k after that
today I did push it hard but that is well past the breakin period I was told to adhere to.

"at this point I am upset and dont know what to do!"
no kidding! you should be able to operate it the way they design it to..that's a tough predicament..sorry to hear this and hope they figure this out..it's a huge black eye for HD
Sorry to say this but.....welcome to my world over the last 3 months. I don't think your rev limiter is set to "6800". I believe you'll find the bike is still rev limited to 5800 rpms. Currently on engine#3 .....still in stock form for now.

Heatwave you have gone thru alot and I wouldnt wish that on anyone!
I hope your bike has no more problems!
stage 3 kits are set at 6400 and stage 4 kits like mine are set at 6800 this is verified in the screaming eagle pro street software, I looked up the rev limiter setting for each kit
this does'nt matter if its a stage kit 3 or 4 from 107 to 114 or 114 to 117 (CVO)
and this is my point that they may have these rev limiters set too high on the stage 3 and 4 kits.

Did you actually SEE the rpms on the tac go over 5800 while riding? Mine did not. When it was on the dyno, it shut down at 5800 with the factory stage 4 ecu map.
man, trying to wrap my head around these rpm numbers and why anyone would want their big V Twin Touring bike to go there..aren't the high rpms where most of the HP is made? just seems like oodles of torque down lower would be the preferred way to go on these bikes..they're Touring bikes not race bikes..even with my Stage 1 107 I can do 80mph winding it up to 5000 rpms in 3rd gear..and my peak RW torque of 106 is at 3000 rpms...I'm sure it would be a kick in the a$$ adrenaline rush to wind up a Stage 4 but doubt I would be wanting to ride it like that very often...but that's just me and some folks just love laying the hammer down a lot!

Yes I have seen it over 6k rpm. do I normally run it that way NO I do not.
this is the stage 4 calibration for my 2017 SGS, the reason the 6800 is grey'd out is because this is the original unmodified factory calibration for stage 4 for my bike.

I dont ride like that all the time but I do sometimes ride with an MC and they expect you to keep up and keep formation without lagging and they don't ride slow.

You would think they ran all these stage 4 kits at high rpms for significant periods of time at whatever the stage 4 map says to determine if the engine has any issues. Clearly it wasn't tested enough given the # of stage 3/4 failures and the need for SB 1450.

yeah, know folks have their reasons, adrenaline junkies or whatever it may be..last bike I built like that was my 2007 Softail Custom so I get it..but a decade later and older I have slowed down literally and figuratively..I was just thinking about maybe getting a 2018 114 Fat Bob to blast around on..but I'd probably lose my license or my life so that thought passed quickly
I remember this happening close to where I live. riding fast and almost wheel to wheel
