I picked up my ROSS from the dealership Saturday for my 1000 mile checkup. I then asked to ball park me a price to install app hangers on my bike in case I don't want to do it. He said it could be $2000-3000 depending on the bars. Does that sound right? The bars I've looked at are $300-500, so up to $2500 for parts and labor? That seems insanely high.

If their rate is $150 per hour, thats a little over 13 hours. Ape's must require new lines and stuff so maybe its right. Thats crazy though.
I'm picking up a set of Factory 47 Malo Bars for 50 dollars from my dealer... Cost is 450 however I have a 400 credit.
(actually have another 500 credit coming this week two friends buying bikes)
got a quote for install of 1k..
thanked them and told them I would do it myself.
Found a local custom bike shop.. hit it off with the owner said he would do the install for 400 bucks.... so that's what I am going with.
Shop around.. Harley dealer is probably your worst bet when it comes to ape hanger install.. especially if you do the sharp ends (meat hook style) bars

If you're riding a SG then it's a complete tear down of the front end to get a set of bars on. On a RG it's a 3-1/2 hr install. Huge difference in price.

That's a total hosing by a dealer that needs to be exposed for the ***** bags they are. God damn rip off artists.
They wanted a grand to put heritage bars on my 15 road King. I told them they were on crack and installed myself for $89 for the cost of the bars.
Granted no new lines and hoses but find and Independent shop.
I found the ones I have been looking for on ebay for $250, 12" Reapers, bought NAMZ switch extensions for $30 on ebay, poly bushings on ebay for $19.99, did the work myself, first time doing bars, also ran my heated grips internally.
