As part of their research for the new 2018 models, Harley-Davidson said today that it interviewed more than 3,000 riders for their views on cruisers. Did anyone on this forum ever talk to Harley corporate about what changes you would like to see on the 2018 bikes?
If so, what suggestions did you make?
They didn't ask me, but if they had I would have told them that they needed to produce a common core frame for the mid-weight bikes so that they could run them down the line like Doritos. Increase the profit margin on the mid-weight bikes to offset offset the shrinking sales of the profit laden touring bikes.
I would have told them all of their bikes handle like a horse drawn carriage (regardless of what frame), but if they market this frame change right, they could convince the tried and true that this was done to improve the handling of their previously manufactured horse drawn carriages.
They asked me what my favorite Harley color is. I told them "vivid black". They told me they really valued my input, and as such would always keep vivid black in the line up.
Here's what I heard from a Guy who works for HD as a trainer, he said they told them in a meeting a couple years ago if anyone mentions the HD forums or any other forum they would be fired.
