Definitely look good. Certainly comfortable initially. Over time they'll destroy your shoulder and you'll switch back. The older athletes among us won't be the ones rocking apes for sure.

I have 10" on my Ultra Limited. They're the right height as the 12" will take your hands above the fairing. I wished I had done helibars though, as I still have some left hand numbness

Thanks for all the positive replies. So far so good after about 200 miles of riding with the apes. Hopefully any discomfort that I may experience in my shoulders on long trips will be less than the pain I felt in my wrists with the old bars.

Good point lyork about going above the fairing, since mine is a Road King I didn't have to consider the impact of going above the fairing. A friend of mine has a 2015 Road Glide and has 16s on his and wishes he went with 18s.

BTW the stock bars on a 2017 RK are 10" so 14" bars only raised my hands about 4 inches. Here's a pic with me on the bike showing where my hands ended up relative to my shoulders:

Perhaps, but when I wear my full faced helmet I look much younger - it's all in the mind of the rider

Looks like the perfect height for you.

I know when I installed my 12", I had to pull them back two more times. I don't like leaning forward as it made my shoulders hurt more...especially between the shoulder blades. and for me it was hard to gauge how far to pull them back just sitting on the bike. I like to slouch in the seat more when riding. So it took a few times to get the bars the right distance for my reach and sitting position.

One more thing I will mention. I think with the wrist angle now, it takes more to work the controls with my thumbs. Seems I'm having to pull my thumbs out more to get around to the controls and so I did have to get used to that. But I love my bars.

Apes are the way to go. I just ordered some LA Choppers 10” for my Ultra Classic.
