I have a Limited with 12000 miles.Stage ll and I have never noticed sluggish operation. But,after the last two oil changes,I have found the crankcase over full by one half quart.1000 mile oil change was done at the Dealer.Did not notice any problem. Then stage ll was installed.Next oil change was done by Dealer and I checked the oil a couple of days later. It was a half quart overfull. So I sucked out a half quart and rode.Next oil change I did Myself. And Yes,I filled it properly, ran and rechecked oil level after operation.Checked several days later and it was one half quart over full.So I sucked out a half quart. What's going on?Is there sumped oil left over in the engine after draining?
When you change the oil you're only taking oil out of the oil pan. What's left in the crankcase stays there unless you pull the little plug from that too.

Maybe a dumb question. But did you change the oil when it was really hot? If not sometimes you wont get the oil out of the the oil cooler. Have had that throw me off before. But I admit I am not familiar with how the M8 dressers with the oil coolers work.
I disagree,With todays oils level is the same hot or cold.
No difference between today oils and yesterdays as far as coefficient of volumetric expansion.. The difference between it and aluminum is about 0.00033 / degree F. That would account for about 1/4 to 1/3 qt.. The other part could be from general oil viscosity and it clingy-ness to internal parts in the motor.
