I bought mine did the stage 3 was happy, than the stage 4 came out i did the stage 4 with the 120 inch cylinders and pistons from suburban speed very happy with it. No warranty but i pound it no problems
Talked with Suburban today, they have a very nice kit. Uses the SE cylinders for the 120. I like those Mahle pistons and have them in my Twin Cam 120. A very tempting option.
The guy I talked with told me that most guys are waiting a while to install, but he has had guys with 4 miles on the bike go with the 120 and are happy.
When asked if they saw sumping issues, he said they have not seen any. But again, they have a product to sell so. The thing that gets me is why some guys are having this and others apparently are not. What is the common denominator here?
I take it you have different heads or had them ported? Throttle body?
When I did my stage III there was no SB or updated oil pumps. When the SB came out I performed the sump test and it passed, there was only a dribble in the sump,Thought I was golden. The oil pump thing bugged me, so I decided to upgrade the pump anyway. Days before my appointment the bike developed a death rattle. Inspection found about 16 oz of burnt stinky oil in the sump, a bunch in the TB and bad cam.
Ouch. Was that an early engine? I'm going to have to confirm build dates on the 2 bikes I'm looking at and am hoping that the latest oil pump is helping, but there could be other things going on.

That was my Black 2017 built 11/2016,on a Thursday.
When I purchased my bike I had the Stage III 114 installed, aftermarket exhaust/header. I have not had any sumping issues on my '17. Keep in mind, although these forums provide great information, the sample size does not reflect the amount of bikes sold. Go for it!!

Right you are......but.....if it is only one bike and that bike is yours it means a lot. I am damn glad I have had no problems but I am empathetic to those that have regardless of the number. A dealer told me one time that Ford is not concerned until a specific problem rises to the level of 1% of vehicles sold. At that point they focus their engineers on the problem. I am sure HD has a similar policy.

Well I pulled the trigger on the bike. Current thinking is let them do a Stage II and determine if this thing will live above 3500 RPM without sumping. If I think it is stable, then much more gets done (like a 120).
