What's the difference between the two I can't seem to find an answer Want to know because I'm looking at two different rgs 2018 and a 19 What's the difference. Is it worth the money for the 114
Dyno numbers are always to be taken with a grain of salt, because they depend on the dyno, when it was last calibrated, the skill or objective of the operator, the air temp, the humidity, etc., etc., etc..
A stock 107 makes around 75-ish hp at the rear wheel, a 114 around 80-ish.
Only you know if that's going to make a meaningful difference in an 800-950 pound motorcycle.
The difference is the 107 has a 4 3/8" stroke and the 114 has a 4 1/2" stroke...i realize that may not be mind blowing to some but some people will look at future mods and the potential for a larger displacement by going with 114 from the start. Stock they're pretty close but start changing out a few parts and the measly 7 cubic inches seems to be worth it...if that's your thing...if not buy either one and you'll be happy.
It's about 10 lb ft of torque difference, which is pretty noticeable and to me feels right for the weight of the bike. I had the dealer upgrade mine to a 114 as it was not available in 17. When you could order the 114 in 18, it was cheaper from the factory. It cost me about $3,000 with an intake but I got a winter sale/deal.
Saved enough $ on a leftover 18 RGS to add the the stage 3 kit. I did not ride the 114 so I can't comment. After owning a 17 107 and an 18 wth the stage 3 kit, there is big difference. No regrets
If you are a "leave it stock" person get the extra cubes. If you are going to modify it right away get the 107 and use the extra dough to make it fast.
I got the 114 then modified and probably should have got the 107 then spent the several grand and still had a quick bike.
