There has been some purchasers that have dissembled more than is needed for assembly. DO NOT TAKE THE 10MM BOLTS OFF THAT RETAIN THE CLUTCH SPRING!!! If you take this off the clutch plates and pressure plate needs to be realigned or you will have no clutch. Please follow the instructions provided during the install not after!! There is also a install video and here is the link.. INSTALL VIDEO HERE

Spanish Cobra, the deflector is a plastic button with a small hole sized for the OE pushrod to slide through. The button is placed in the end of the end of the main shaft under the inner cover on the clutch actuator and cable side. You would need to remove the button deflector to allow the fat rod to be inserted from the derby side and sliding into the mainshaft. As it is now, your button will stop the fat rod from sliding through. I had the button deflector but my transfer rate doubled in half the miles. So I removed it. Youll have to drop the heat shield, and the drop the head pipe slightly to take the chrome cover off the cable side and remove the inner cover to access the deflector. If you do this, consider the impact with your dealer and the warranty repair, lol. If you take it out, this is the best time to remove your OE rod and slide in the fat rod from the tranny side. Or have your dealer do it if you can convince them to remove the deflector if your transfer rate is worse. You should be able to reuse the gasket if you dont damage it, otherwise you may need to buy another one to have on hand.
