Purchasing new RGS. What’s everyone’s thoughts on the 114 motor. I’ve never owned or ridden a bike with one. I currently own a SGS with 107 and I like it so the M8 is not new to me. Just like to here pro’s and con’s.
while we’re at what’s color should I get. Anything but black.
Motor pulls strong and smooth, new Boom is a big upgrade especially when used with the HD app.
My 2019 RGS is Candy Hot Rod Red Flake but this is not an available colour, I got the dealer to swop all my tins over from my 2018 RGS so making it unique
First thing I did was have the dealer change the bars as part of the deal and then I upgraded the stereo, added amp n speakers
If you don't want a black bike then I would consider the denim grey or scorching orange
I own a 107 and test rode a 114 bike. I could not notice a difference in the way it ran. Pulled the same, felt the same. I’ve also seen a lot of reviews of people saying the same thing. If the combination of new features on the 2019s are attractive enough, go for it. But the 114 alone is not a significant enough improvement to justify upgrading. At least it’s not for me.
I rode a '19 RGS demo and it was pretty much the same as riding my stock '17 RGS. I couldn't feel any more power between my 107 and the new 114. I've heard some guys say that the 107 has more instant throttle response compared to the 114, but that the 114 pulled harder after it gained some revs. The 114 looks more powerful on dyno charts, but I sure couldn't feel a difference riding!
I've ridden the 114 in the Heritage and the FXDR and it's strong, but not a huge diff over the 107 overall..hope you're not trading your Laguna Orange in, it's the best and fastest color they ever made!

I agree about that color! I could have bought that color when I bought my '17 RGS but I got a black one since I was paying cash, and that color was about 3 grand more. I do understand about wanting the RGS though. Personally I prefer Road Glides, but that color on your Street Glide is beautiful, and the blacked out fad will soon fade away as the powdercoat chips away on the new bikes front ends. Wonder how I know?

I was on a budget and most might not like to hear this but I was told there was little difference in the engine and to me the paint job wasn’t worth me dropping an extra 4-7k on a special. Wich apparently just means blacked out because that’s what all the cool kids are doing now days. But I must admit billiard blue and that orange are pretty righteous.
