I have, with a 5 and 4 transmission. No clunk, but they grind all day, haha!

To stop the clunk, pull the clutch in and out a few times while reving a little. Of course you have to be in neutral. It spins the oil out of the clutch plates. I can't do it every time but it works most of the time. Now shifting while moving is another story.

I like the clunk. Never had a motorcycle that didn't clunk. Some seem louder than others. These Harleys seem pretty loud, but it doesn't bother me in the least.

The M8 funnel works a lot better than the one they made for the Twin Cam. When I first used the M8 one it didn't seem like it fit worth a crap. I played around with it and got it into position and it fits like a glove. The hose is also much better since it's formed instead of a straight piece.

In the early 70's, I drove a couple of old POS non turbo Internationals' with a 4 and 4 the other had a 5 and 4. 65 foot truck and trailer with a big *** forklift on the back delivering concrete blocks. I actually got pretty good splitting gears. I haven't been in a cab in many decades and I'm guessing things are much more refined.

When I did the cam testing with Steve he said that he couldn't get decent brake cleaner in California. I left him what I had brought from Nevada.

Also, so far I haven't had good luck with the M8 funnel, but maybe I haven't attached it securely. I'm due for an oil change so maybe I can get it to work correctly this time.

Your right he is old, you are to by the sounds of it.
They are so refined that almost all trucks are automatics now. They have to fill the seats somehow. Kinda like Harley brake hold on a hill, gotta sell them somehow. LOL
