@ 17K myself, mine is not transferring. I have nothing on my bike to address transfer.
Thanks for the info. Was mine documented? I really cant say. I reported it and they said they checked it, but like I said...I dont trust this dealership at all. So who knows.

Thanks. Like I said. Mine was minimal? 5000 miles and not reading on the stick....I think I added 6 oz when I checked it then. And to be honest, while I was under warranty, and they said they were checking it...then said it was fine....I stopped worrying about it myself and admittedly havent checked it since.

I dont believe them, but its ran great since then......17000 miles on the bike now. So I didn't worry about it.

Warranty is out now of course, but what is the deal with the primary vent that comes with newer bikes. Is this a tech bulletin? Can I get the vent installed on my bike? Should I?

Thanks for any info.
If you had reviewed under warranty, they should cover the vent kit.

if not, it’s like $36 or so from Surdyke, and about an hour to install at home with a regular drill and 11/32” bit. The kit includes a new primary gasket, vent tube, and drain plug oring.

Ahh thanks! Not bad at all. Though I cringe at drilling my own primary case. lol

If my indy does it, it would only be like 60 bucks and if HE messes it up, its on him. 60 bucks is cheap peace of mind to me..haha

I have a small transfer issue, in 5000 miles it's down to the bottom of the add mark. Unless it gets worse, it's not worth the cost of the fix.
I bought the vent kit for 30 bucks and installed it myself in less than an hour, I dont know of any cheaper insurance out there. no brainer IMO

I had all kinds of fun getting the vent installed. One call to Harley Canada and it got done. I had it first documented at a dealer in Colorado but my dealer said they had to document it too. To top it all off they were charging me to check the oil levels. The dealer claimed they needed to document it before Harley would send the kit. I talked to a dealer in the US and was prepared to ride down to pick up the kit and do it myself.

In my case it was off the dipstick in aprox 1500 miles. I don't care if they claimed there was still enough oil in the transmission to prevent damage, how do you know if there's anything left in it when it doesn't touch the dipstick? Not reassuring when you're 1000 miles from home.

This is true, unless it was documented while under warranty, as was my case. I noticed transfer while under warranty, took it in to dealer along with the service bulletin, they said nothing was wrong. Fast forward two years and I'm 6 months out of warranty, noticing more transfer. I took the bike in along with the updated service bulletin and service record showing the transfer issue noted. The dealer called the Moco and the Moco installed under warranty.

Hmmm. Sounds like something to research then. lol

It wouldn't surprise me though that my service dealer didn't have a record of me asking them to document it. Thats how shady they seem to have become, but I may have to find out. Thanks!

Dropped my 19 SGS off today at the local dealership, to have the vent kit installed, under warranty. Mine likes to transfer the tranny oil to the primary. Added close to 10 oz. in 4 months of owning it. Also having a SE tuner installed while it's there.

Did you take 10 oz out of the other side?
