Plus 1. I did 107 to 114 for big bore short stroke combo. Better cam & compression. More torque than stock 107 from 2500 up plus way more HP. Dont skip the dyno tune. If warranty is not a concern aftermarket.
Stage 3 really isnt a hot rod high rpm high horse power build but rather how MoCo should have sent it out the door in the first place IMO.

I did a stage 3 at the time of purchase before I took possession of the bike along with an extended warranty. I never rode a 107 so I can't comment on how much of a performance gain I got. The bike runs strong and I have had no issues. 20,00miles, no sumping or transfer. 2017 SGS.
They're replacing both cylinders, both pistons and all the valve guides. I believe the heads are okay as they are.
The list of replacement parts is what made me think of going with Stage 3 but like you, I am no hot rodder. The 107 has plenty of "go" for the long haul touring I do... no rush to get to 70mph.
They are going one step further with mine they are replacing the entire heads so so it was a no brainer to go this route. The labor is all but covered.
I did the upgrade after adding a Fullsac MX Pipe and MK45's. My dealer gave me a deal I couldn't refuse on parts and labor. I'm very happy with the Stage 3 Upgrade to 114 and it really work up the bike both in HP and Torque. I've done a few long trips and I'm happy with the results. You'll be very happy with going to the Stage 3.
Has anyone done the HD 107 to 114 Stage 3 upgrade?
I have a 2017 FLHTK and the dealer is doing a warranty rebuild of my motor due to an excessive oil consumption issue; so it would be the perfect time to do it.
Two questions come to mind;
1: Is the performance improvement noticeable enough to justify the cost?
2: Has the change affected anything else about the bike, especially reliability?
Thanks for the help.
I'm sorry i have no personal experience on the m8 big bore kits yet. I have a few questions for u tho, if u dont mind.
1. Did u buy the bike new?
2. How many km when it started to consume excessive oil and how bad?
3. Did the dealer diagnose the problem for the excessive oil consumption?

Hi SMR65, of course I don't mind.
1: Yes I bought it new near the end of summer 2017.
2: My dealer first noticed the oil use on the 32000km (20K miles) service check and asked me to watch it. I don't think it got worse than 2 -3 liters (quarts) per 8000km (5K miles).
3: My dealer told me mine is not the first M8 107 they have rebuilt the engine for this problem. It seemed to them that the problem is isolated to bikes that sat idle for a few months between production and being put into service with a new customer. I guess no one wanted a black quartz dresser as much as me.

Ride safe and enjoy.
Ok thanks, i ask because i was at my dealer back a few months ago and they trailer'd in a 107 street glide with 40,000km with the same issue. When i went back in days later they had it a part. I asked what did they come up with, as the problem. The answer i get is, they thought they dont ride it hard enough and lugging. YA OK. Anymore there is no finding out, what is causing problems. Just bolt on new and away u go.
