Lots of folks with dynos say they flow well. I used a holesaw on an extension to drill mine out, and a piece of conduit to scrape the walls. I can weld but not as good as you.
You would be surprised at how little effect it has. They flow pretty good. On a few I have removed the CAT of heat issues near the cat the sound did not really change nor did the bike run any different.
Ok , ok, ok. Lemme get this straight before I dump $500 on a set of either V&H or S&S headers for my King.....
Are you (most of ya) saying that removing the cat WILL NOT make my bike louder? Won't run cooler either?????

The heat from the CAT can effect rider or passenger some but it don't make the bike run hotter. CAT creates heat to burn off gasses. No pulling the CAT makes no real difference in sound some may hear a little tone difference if they want to believe .
I am not against removing. The heat that comes off them can be a pain. The M8 has not been an issue so it is still in. No doubt a good header and pipes can make a little more power. if done right. It can also cause it to lose power in some cases .
With all these enlightened comments about how awesome catalytic converters are and how much better they make our engines run, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the custom pipe manufactures enlist our experts to incorporate CAT's into performance products...NASCAR, NHRA, They are next! I'm telling you, it's gonna happen! it will be a CAT revolution!
