Default Finally Nailed the Sound.

Ok after not being completely happy with the sound out of my KW slip on’s I started purchasing the baffles they offer. Let’s start with what I started with. I have a 2019 CVO with RS 468 Cam, Full Sac header with KW slip ons. They sounded pretty amazing, but unfortunately the bike lost a lot of power and did not run great., so I purchased the first set of baffles. The Louvered ones woke the bike up and ran amazing, but I hated the flutter sounds. Round 2, I order the performance DB killer baffles. Well, it killed the sound like the name said, but bike still ran amazing, so I tried lifting the tab an inch. It helped with the sound but was still not enough. I even tried running one in the right side and none on the left. It got a little louder and sounded pretty good. Bike still running great. Now we are at the point in the story where it gets really good. I purchased a set of the ripper baffles and put one in the left side. I left the performance baffle with tab lifted 1 inch on the right side, and holly cow! This is the sound I was going for and I don’t feel I sacrificed any power. The bike is running great.

You won’t be disappointed and it’s not much of an investment to find out. Got mine on eBay $50 free shipping.

Another option is he could cut the performance insert in half. I did this during my testing to get some sound back. I cut the insert down and made it about 8-9 inches long. I tried these in the left side only and then cut down inserts in each side. Sound was great and performance was still there.

I did the same to the left side performance baffle and it did help, but I needed to keep the back pressure on the right side for performance reasons. It made a huge difference taking out the cut performance baffle on the left side and putting in the ripper. Huge difference!!

Good deal, yeah sometimes we have to just play around with different things and see what works best.

Wow thanks for doing all this testing and sharing!
Can I purchase your extra inserts so I can play with sound and performance?
I may end up exactly where you did!
😀

I have a set of Louvered baffles, 1 ripper and 1 performance baffle I cut the end off that I will never use that I would sell if someone wanted them.
