me dids... oops. Corrected to 350 (what my dealer is charging). Heck, he's in Long Island, so it might just be $750!

I've hit those iffy miles before I could get it in for service. Set a rule for myself to drain the oils and refill 'em around the 1k mark if it'll be between 300 and 500 miles over before I can get it in. Also give all the general stuff (tires, belt, brakes, lights, etc.) a good look over. Then get it in to the shop for service. Just me, YMMV.

I'd say that as long as your going for IBA you should be good with a weeks worth of riding... I mean how many miles can you really put on knowing there's a service due...

would do the change myself like noted above, unless it was covered when you bought her...

Bought my 2019 Road Glide in January but living in Rhode Island I couldn’t get out to ride until late April. I now have 980 miles and will be doing the 1K service on June 1. Normally I wouldn’t have the dealer do it but the bike does not have the trans/primary vent and the dealer refused to put one in prior to buying the bike. They claim that they needed to have evidence of the transfer prior doing the work under the warranty. It is ridiculous the $$$ the dealership charges to do a 1K service.

It's ridiculous what they charge for anything they do or sell. Not to mention the mess they make of your bike. Mine will never go to a dealer unless there is just absolutely no other option, and even then I would find another way.

I had 1483 miles on my bike when I took it in for the 1000 mile service. I called in to make my service appt, and by the time they got me in, I was over almost 500 miles. No problems with warranty and it has been rock solid. Make the appt and ride it until your appt date. Don't worry.

On my 13 CVO King bought the bike Friday, and money brought it in for the 1K service with 1436 miles on it.

I'll be honest, it wouldn't make a single percentage wise of difference if you brought it in at 1000 or 2000 miles. It's got band new fluids from the factory, pull the dipsticks, I bet everything is clear except for the primary which will be dirty because it's an enclosed chain system.
I get it, a Harley is not a car but you don't run into the dealer after a few hours of driving for a fluid change so it's really not that pressing to hit the 1000 mark. The dealer is going to put junk oil into the bike, might as well take a couple hours and do it yourself, with quality oil.
I won't get into an oil thread but PAM is damn near better than SYN3
