Thinking about going to stage 2
what are your thoughts from the guys that went this route
are you happy with the performance?
did you upgrade your oil pump?
had any issues with it ect?
thanks for your in put
Like many, I did a stage 2 and have no regrets. In my case I used Fuelmoto for the cam (22x) and install kit. Picked up the 8 lobe oil pump from Surdyke.
I waited 2 years before going this route and don't regret that either. Had a few issues along the way that was covered. Anyway, the cam job was worth every penny. I ride two up fully loaded a lot and the bike really runs stronger and somewhat quicker now.
stage two on my bike over the winter at Drago in Belvideer Illinois they put the whole s@S kit in with S@S fuel pump and Dragos own cams.
I am very pleased with performance and sound
I just let Harley do mine and one thing I didnt think would happen is it is a LOT louder. I knew it would sound different. Same Reinhardts I had before the stage 2. Anyone else notice this?
Love mine, sounds like I wanted it to and goes like a scalded duck. Worthwhile investment imo. I do wish the 2020 pump had been available at the time though.
I went with the Red Shift 468 cam,S&S lifters, and S.E. adjustable pushrods. As I understand it, the cam was developed using a D&D Billet Cat, so I used that. I did the job before the 8 lobe oil pump was available. I installed the latest oil pump available at the time which has the sealed back plate. If I have to go into the cam chest again I'll replace the oil pump, but so far it's been good, besides I think that the sealed back vastly reduces the chance of sumping and i ran the original pump for 11,000 trouble free miles all over the west and to Canada. I had it dyno tuned using PowerVision. The bike now has 126 ft. lbs. of torque at 2850 r.p.m. so passing power on the interstate at 75 to 80 m.p.h. is fantastic. I'm totally amazed at the power increase that a simple cam install produces in these M8s.

Yes. My Street cannons are almost too loud now. I'm still running the stock header with Cat too...
