You're paying for the privilege of being one of the first to have one.
Dealers around me do that all the time for the harder to get vehicles, Raptors, Shelby's, GT350/500, they call it adjusted market value and apparently there are idiots out there that pay it.
More than once I have got the first CVO delivered to my local dealer. He usually gets a couple CVO's the day after the release of the new models. Never had to pay above MSRP.
Got one of the first 5 2014 Corvette stingrays delivered to Knoxville, when the C7 was all new, under MSRP.
Had the all new C* mid engine corvette on order, would have been 3rd one in Knoxville. Had to cancel in February due to going out of work on disability for cancer. My deal was under MSRP.
There are dealers that look for that one time sale. Others look for the repeat business.
Yeah, and some people pay over $15K for a bicycle. If someone can afford it, more power to them. Hopefully, Freddy hamburger flipper, is not going to try to buy & finance one.
i dont think the point of the post was nobody should buy it just that its a lot of cashola for a stock bike. yeah its stock. if you can and want to buy it then god bless. imo it is a lot of money when for the same cash you could have a much faster and bulletproof bike. funny thing also is most guys who purchase a cvo still modify it. seen more than a few at bike nights when there was bike nights.
Did that sticker say $1900.00 for dealer prep? If so that is Nuts!! I have always found dealer prep to be Bullshit line Item......they need to prep the bike to legally sell it they should absorb the charge

True, me its just bars and motor work on both my CVO bikes, see signature.
That said, MSRP is the max to pay for a CVO, not stupid price this dealer has on it.

likely they are just fishing, with satisfactory outcome allowing someone to talk them down to real MSRP to feel good about the deal..gotten way too many under MSRP good deals so that is our stake in the ground..would have to REALLY want a particular bike REAL bad to ever even pay MSRP and even then I'd be requiring some stuff thrown in or discounted to make up for that..it really is all about the whole package OTD deal everything included that matters which is all negotiable as we know
It’s always been about supply and demand. I’ve bought many a cvo and never paid over Msrp. Dealer prep should be no different on a cvo than on a regular touring bike. Unless you want the newest and coolest, the best deals on cvo bikes are garage queens a few years later. I’ve bought a couple over the years for less than 1/2 price with around 2000 miles on the odometer, lol!
