M8 (2018) 107 "decompression sensor"?
My Sport Glide has been at the local dealer since the 31st of March, when I handed it in for a 25,000 miles check-up. The only feedback they are willing to give me is that they are (still) waiting on the delivery of a "decompression sensor": What is that and where can I get a hold of one and get it sent to Belgium? Aftermarket store or HD dealer in The States? That sensor apparently is not available in Western Europe Earliest delivery via Harley logistical chain estimated to be mid May, probably later. I'm already suffering from severe withdrawal symptoms...
PS: Im only aware of a O2, temperature, and knock sensors on each cylinder (spark timing).
Many thank; grts!
Stef
I did additional google-checks and indeed I believe you're right. This is what I've found: Automatic Compression Release (ACR); located on the front and rear cylinder, in between the spark plugs. Powered by the Body Control Module (BCM), controlled by the Electronic Control Module (ECM). Assists in the starting; releases the pressure pure for starting purposes only. It doesn't do anything afterwards. However, a faulty ACR could cause a rough running engine, and I did indeed feel some reluctance of the engine in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear a low rpm's, especially when easing off the throttle.
Leaves the latter of my previous post: "where can I get a hold of that and get it sent to Belgium? ... apparently not available in Western Europe…"
