I have had (4) M8 Road Glides, my average is 50%.... 1st I Traded my 2014 Road King in on the 2017, had stage III before delivery, was the 1st one the dealer had done, I had to loan them my personal valve spring compressor so they could put it together. Lol.. It lasted 15,500 miles then sumped and knocked . Went to a 2018 W/ stage II, both HD Torque cam and Woods 22X, was a Great bike traded at 58,000 miles. My 1st 2020 was a big disappointment, hated the bike, lots of weird issues. Current 2020 runs great, love this bike, got it in Jan and have over 15,000 miles w/stage 1...... Edit! when I look back I miss that black bike, Damn You Harley Davidson and your tested and proven reliable stage kits....By the way, there were no blacked out bikes in 2017, I did that one with their P&A... Good Times...

I think I may have read a 100 threads of you touting how great the M8s are, particularly of having no issues with your near stock bikes (the 107s) minus a couple sets of street cannon mufflers breaking and a bad head on the wife's bike [Edit:] and of course trans oil transfer.
What other problems? Curious...

I reported each and every issue here

transmission fluid transfer - fyi...I was the first person to report this issue on this forum Spring of 2017 and we all know the rest
cracked heat shield - replaced under warranty
Four LHCM clutch switch failures - all replaced under warranty
3 sets of premature worn wheel bearings one caused damage to rear pulley, rotors..all replaced under warranty
warped front brake rotors - not covered under warranty
the original Hi Flow SE AC kits were pokers until they mitigated that with the new tubes that extended further into TB

probably left out one or two issues based on old guy recollection

what I did "tout" as you say, is not one single issue ever caused a break down, towing or trip ruined
so my point is...not one of those issues are present on our 2020s thus far...hope that helped jog your memory

Ahh. I thought you meant problems with the M8. So none with the engine eh? Yeah, I think I've had nearly all the same non-engine related issues - like literally - minus wheel bearings. No issues there.

simply responding to OP topic - Milwaukee 8 Reliability??? specifically that since we have had ZERO issues of any kind after 54,000 combined miles on our 2020s that's really all I can contribute, but I believe it's the type of report a prospective buyer would be interested in, since he's asking

I get it. Just had me lost since Milwaukee 8 Reliability to me means engine.
Thought you were implying you had all kinds of engine problems - kinda reads that way, but in fact... it's the other way around. Many minor issues with the bike itself, but minimal with the actual engine.

I still have my 17. Thankfully after all the recalls and parts updates I've been solid for over 45K. Love my first year model!

That sounds typical of Harleys when they come out with a new motor, although, as others have said here, they've had no problems. I'm hoping that the 2019s have fewer of the ramp up problems that the 2017s had.

I tend to think of 'M8' as the latest generation motorcycle, in general..sure, it's great to know if the powertrain went from being a Yugo to a Camry in terms of reliability..but if I'm considering plunking down ~$30K ish on a new bike I also want to know if RDRS or BOOM GTS is trouble free or trending new problems and growing pains, which can be real expensive after warranty and annoying PITA if they don't function well even under warranty, or any recalls..and / or, etc..if the whole package isn't solid I'm likely sitting on the sidelines for that much dough..I'm happy to say my 2020 is the most enjoyable and reliable Harley I have ever owned..I have confidence I can ride with impunity however I want to and how much and how far I want to..OP, go get one, they haven't ever been better (although I personally wouldn't want to 'downgrade' to cable clutch)
