Default Warranty ?

Got a ? about the Trisk vented transmission top cover, ive been checking out all the videos about the M8 sumping issues, ive only had my 21 114 bob a few weeks. Havent been riding much due to it being winter, but im contemplating one of those vent covers. just curious whether a mod like that will mess with the warranty.

possible depending on circumstances of failure / warranty claim..but don't waste your money, it doesn't need that..it's a Softail as well which I don't think had the sumping or trans fluid transfer for the most part

Agree with MJ here, Trask is not needed unless you’ve added cubic inches or your bike is puking a lot of oil from the breathers, according to Trask those are the targets. I have one on my bike but I have a 128 big bore. I would just ride and enjoy your bike unless you get the itch for more power, then you have a lot of other items you will need before the Trask vent!

Yeah man, thanks for the info, im fairly new to Harley especially the big twin. I did have an 04 1200 sporty but if you can imagine with not knowing much about the M8, learning of a sumping issue after my 21 bob was sitting in my garage. Im just gonna let it ride since learning the 2020 and newer M8s got the upgraded oil pumps.

Even when sumping was a far more common complaint than it is now, reports of it happening to Softails were few and far between. In fact I can only recall two cases being discussed here.

I never read a creditable report of a softail sumping. The only report I ever read of a softail sumping the guy traded it off before finding out what was wrong with it, he was just assuming it was sumping. As far as the transfer problem it was only with the hydraulic clutches, the cable clutches don't have that issue. Ride and enjoy the softails are great!!!!!

It's snake oil unless you got a 17-19 touring, and even then it's questionable.

Questionable? Please explain how you came to this conclusion?
