In the process of replacing drive belt on 17 RG l noticed the primary has ben hitting the frame. Any know issues of pre mature motor mount failure on the m8 touring bikes. Only has 8k miles

Look closely at belt in last picture?

CT, might want to look at mounts. Obviously, something is not right.

That break in belt from stone damage? Is there damage to sprockets?

Looks like someone dropped a socket and it got lodged.... or could have been a rock or something.

Your mounts are probably fine. Belt...no so much. Wow only 8K.

A buddies bike. This one was a 3/8s that was in there for a few years:

pulleys look fine. My riding habits are a bit harsh I am leaning towards a hole shot or wheelie

That's normal. I have a picture of that too around here somewhere - brand new bike too.
Not saying you don't have a problem, but mine looks like that too for whatever reason. Front left mount right?

Tech walked me around to another new bike that was on a lift and it was exactly the same. Whole ordeal was a waste of time and made me feel stupid.

When I say I tried everything, I mean I loosened all (4) the mounts, wiggled the engine/trans, used a scissor lift under the engine, a pry bar, some thoughts and prayers, nothing would center it.
Being the obsessive type, I also went as far as getting an adjustable top engine mount. Only then was I able to closely center it and then 15K miles later the rear tire had irregular wear on the one side.
Took it off and went back to stock and it's been fine that way for 40K miles.

Anyway, just sharing my experience. Good luck to your Sir.
