Default Fork oil change

Has anyone changed the fork oil in M8 touring. Can I pull the caps on top and drain out bottom and refill threw top like previous years?

There are no drains per se, as they are the bolts that hold the damper rods in place.
The 49mm setup is pretty easy to remove from the bike. wheel ,fender, calipers off. Loosen pinch bolts on the triple tree, slide fork leg down until you have access to the fork cap. re-tighen one of the pinch bolts to hold the tube from spinning,
Break the fork cap loose, loosen pinch bolts again and slide the whole fork leg out.remove the top cap, invert the fork into a drain bucket being careful not to dump the guts all over the place. Let drain and refill. ( see manual for oil type, torque and oil amounts.)

Most will tell you, depending on age and mileage, to buy a rebuild kit and replace the serviceable parts if you are going this far.

Good Luck

I hope the OP does not mind if I ask a follow up. I just replaced the fork tubes on a salvage '19 Lowrider. I refilled the forks per the shop manual, measuring from the top of the tub. During refill, I did pump the damper allowing a couple more ounces of fill. The shop manual was silent on pumping to fill the damper (or not) during refill.
Did I overfill?

Sometimes you have to spend money to save money. This tool was worth the spend

Also be careful taking the caps off. They are under pretty good pressure from the springs.
