There is no baffle in these at all. I can see all the way from one end to the other with nothing in the way.

Where did you get the street cannons with different size inlets? I’ve never heard of HD making a special set of mufflers for the 131 header.

Can you take a picture looking down the muffler and post it? I have a hard time believing they don't have a baffle in them. Just being able to see all the way through doesn't mean there is no baffle.

I haven't been able to find any info showing that the header which comes with the kit you purchased is a different size where the left and right muffler are attached. You should be able to install any muffler that would fit an M8 on your head pipe. I run a 2/1 and thought it was too loud so I pulled the baffle and wrapped it and that quieted it down a little.

I was wrong about this. I was under the impression that they were different sizes but in fact they are not. The CVO mufflers would be way too restrictive for the 131 engine.

You are correct in that the original mufflers will fit. My mistake. (I hate getting old!)
But the original mufflers would be too restictive for the 131 engine.

The "tail pipe" extends into the muffler by 4 ". It is just a plain round pipe. No holes in it at all except for the two ends. The interior of the muffler is 2-1/2" in diameter. This tail pipe is 2-1/4". Too late to take a picture. I've put together a home made baffle and just got through putting it all back together. Haven't ran it yet. I took db readings with two instuments before I did anything and will take them again. I have two other minor maintanence things to do first. Just came in the house to get something to eat.

Here is a diagram that I made awhile ago to help me design somekind of baffle. The diagram does not include the end piece that comes off.

When they did your tune I'm assuming they ran it on a Dyno and tuned it? Keep in mind that if you start playing around with different baffles it will impact your tune.

All of the big bore M8's have been loud. Probably no way of getting around that if you're trying to quiet it down a lot. I would think the screaming eagle stuff would be more on the mellow side compared to the aftermarket. Is that kit 50 state legal?

You could also use your stock cvo mufflers and put 1.75 fullsac cores in them, still performs and I would feel sure the 1.75 would be pretty tame.
