A lttle play is OK a new bearing has about 0.005 axial. What's more important is while pushing do you feel any roughness.

With the crap china bearings the moco uses stock they'll get changed when the tire does. Extra expense is cheap compared.

A little end play is okay, so I was wrong, but 0.005" is greater than HD is expecting from their bearings. Sportster FSM

9. Check wheel bearing end play.
a. Mount a magnetic base dial indicator on the brake
disc. Set the indicator contact point on the end of the
axle.
b. Move the wheel back as far as it will go. Holding the
wheel in position, zero the dial indicator gauge.
c. Move the wheel forward as far as it will go. Note the
reading of the dial indicator. The lateral movement or
end play must be less than 0.002 in. (0.05 mm).
Repeat the procedure to verify the reading.
d. If end play is 0.002 in. (0.05 mm) or more, remove
wheel and replace both wheel bearings.

You win I got the tolerance off (if the manual is correct for 6205). Still if the bearing race / ***** start to Brinell or Fret, that tolerance won't show any issue. In fact it will tighten up. It may be hard to stay under as radial clearance on a C3 bearing will be about 0.0013".

IMO the biggest issues with 6205 bearing dying are improper installation and contamination. The many of the aftermarket installers ar designed wrong. They put a high axial load on the bearing by pressing the outer race in too far.
