Forgot to pick up a new compensator bolt for the ramp replacement. Called dealer and OF COURSE they're on national back order until JULY. Seriously? Unbelievable. Luckily I found one new on eBay for only a 50% markup.
Last time I did this I pulled the clutch basket as well, but if I'm just changing the ramp, can I get the chain off w/o pulling off the clutch?
Also have to get a longer breaker bar. I nearly crapped out a kidney trying to break it loose last time with an 15" bar...

Yes. It slips right off once the tensioner is out of the way.
Also I got a 24inch collapsable breaker bar from Harbor Freight to remove the Comp Bolt, and just leveraged off the crashbar.

If this is the first time for the main bolt, reuse it.. I run them up to 3 or 4 before replacing.. Inspect the threads.. The important things are to clean the hole and threads.. I use a 1/2 inch SS pipe cleaner and blow it out.. Without the loctite patch and a bit of red you only need to torque to 145-150.

The Compensator bolt reinstallation actually has it's own Torque Sequence.
You first Torque it to 100ft lbs, back it off Half a turn, then Torque down to 175ft lbs.

I appreciate it, but I got one coming in a few days. I doubt Ill be done with the motor this weekend so Ive got some time before Ill be beating on that ramp. And Im sure you know by now that Im a little nuts, and while Im sure it would be perfectly fine, it would gnaw at my ocd if I didnt replace a $10 bolt you know how it is (or maybe your lucky enough not to!)
