Huh? I just got the bike last week, getting ready to change plugs for 1st time on a M8. Just asking about others pitfalls, if any, before I dig in. Geesh WTH

Modern plugs don`t need anti seize, the service manual says "clean dry threads".

while I agree, my recent and albeit rare isolated incident with spark plugs, made me consider a 'little dab'll do ya' ' of anti seize may have prevented a plug from having snapped off at the threads during removal....they were in there for 30,000 miles and 18 months and while I had it in for hydraulic fluid flush, fork rebuild service, etc I had the dealership replace the spark plugs when one broke off..they covered the repair which was labor extensive and head was replaced..had I don'e the spark plugs myself and I broke one off the way this happened..I'd have been on the hook for all of the R&R ... I think if one were to use some AS sparingly doubt it would hurt anything and may just help

Probably because the majority of HD riders will never ride in the rain or clean with anything more than spray detailers...

Don't pay attention to silly comments. People don't always read before making them. Reminded me of a saying: "whenever someone says "no offence", you know they are being offensive..."

If one uses a torque wrench on their plugs (I do), applying anything to the threads alters the actual final torque (over-tight), even when using the OEM spec. That's why HD specifies "Clean, dry threads". Their torque spec is correct only if that statement is followed.

indeed, and installing cold instead of hot is highly advisable..personally I never used a torque wrench on spark plugs or drain plugs for any of my boats, cars, lawnmowers, motorcycles, etc. ...started doing all these back in the 1970s on dirt bikes 'by feel' and never stripped or broke any .. but a high quality properly calibrated torque wrench is a wonderful tool to have for many

Heres a good question, Im ready to pull tank but only see 1 wire that will come off with tank, the fuel pump wire? The other plug/wire is for fuel sensor, I think, it goes under and to the back of the bike. It doesn't look like it will come off with tank? I can unplug it, but don't see it going to tank anywhere? Maybe the 17 Street Glide Special is slightly different?
