Default Thunderheader!

Why is there no love for the T-header exhaust for the M8? I heard one recently on a cammed 131, and I was in love!
I have been trying to decide on my new exhaust system, and HAD it narrowed down to 2 until I came across this '20 CVO with that black TH system, so I have been scouring the web looking for info about tuning issues, power curves, etc. when coupled with aftermarket big bore builds, and bigger cams. There is not a ton out there. There are a few YouTube vids, you should hear this thing.

They are expensive as ****, lots of people complaining about availability, etc. but certainly not a lot of info about how good/bad they can be tuned on the dyno.

This guy with his 131 didn't know what cam he had, or anything else do that was a bust. Sounded just awesome, though.

Anybody have any info? My list of parts is nearly complete! I just need to pick a pipe, damn it!

I am going to hit up the local tuner one last time, see if he knows anything. He wants me to get the Bassani

Thunderheader was among about three exhausts at the top of my to-try list for a big power street build, delivered from Dennis Kirk within two days.
This video is right after install; I'm getting a new tune in the Spring. You'll get similar sound on a bagger and a "no dip" dyno graph.
It actually seems quieter than my previous Thrashin exhaust.

I had a Thunder Header system on my 1989 ElectraGlide with an EV13 cam and head work. Too loud for me on a touring bike, especially for higher mileage days.

Ya better get the TH or you will NEVER be happy!
It is not like it is a bad or inferior exhaust.
Would never be enough to tell a difference so get what makes ya happy!👍
Still waiting to hear your cam choice!
Didja see new GMR-555 that they just tested in a SE-131? 😜

Sounds fantastic, but more importantly it is great to hear about no dip

Baggers with a longer exhaust should not get a dip, different story for Softail.

It's not as loud as I thought it would be, the design is new for baggers:

"Our X-SERIES™ Exhaust is our newest line in creating maximum horsepower. With our 2" headpipe, equal length tubes, and a larger collector, this exhaust is made specifically for Harley-Davidson's Milwaukee-Eight™ engine."
