Im doing the cam sprocket alignment on my new 131ci crate motor. I installed the SE cam plate for my bike. oil cooled only. Cycle Rama CR-515 cam. The alignment is more then .150 and the small shim included in the kit is .017-.019" Too large. Is this common at all? I need a .161". i can fit .011" with the .150"

I would check to see that the crankshaft gear is fully seated, as what you describe is NOT common and should not happen. I could also be that the cam has been mismade, check the end play on the camshaft as well.
You can lay the old cam plate on a flat surface and measure the cam plate front thrust surface (through the cam mounting hole) to the flat service. Do that on both and you would see if the SE unit may be thinner at the front cam plate thrust surface requiring more shim.
I sent a message to Cycle Rama. Ill see what they say then ill take it apart and check everything.I did notice that the crank came out of the plate quite a bit. Ill have to check the factory plate and my other motor too.

Quick test would be to put the stock plate and stock cam back in and check it. If that check good then remove the cam and install your aftermarket one with the stock plate and check again.
So cam plates are 1.124 stock and SE is 1.125. The cams are the same with in. 001 of each other. The factory spacer was a .110 just like my 114ci motor had. I wonder if they even check it? I would put the factory cam back in but im on a time crunch to get this bike done.
Took it apart put it back together again. maybe i just needed to do it again for some reason. Now it only needs a .130" shim. Actually i could tell just by looking at the sprockets from the side but .132" would have been perfect.
