They replaced the whole top end sans heads and I have it back now.
I hope she's going to run for a while now without more problems, really love the M8 but getting to wonder if I can trust it for long term.
So they replaced valves, rockers, rocker covers, oil/coolant lines?

Not that I know of, haven't had a chance to go over what all they did yet.
As far as I know the heads were okay so they did new jugs and pistons.

I haven't had any problems with Stock lifters, but my Fueling HP+ Lifters one of them started to fail after 7500 miles.
I went with the Wood Plat lifters, and I appreciate their quieter sound. They are a bit "clickity clack" when I first start the bike but it goes away and It goes away at the right time where I forget that they make that clackty sound during warm up.

I feel like a bad lifter happening is more of a luck of the draw than anything else. There's so many made and you draw 4x the risk because any 4 of them could fail.
Seems like it might just be a bad luck of the draw moment.

It's called "planned obsolescence". If cars, trucks, motorcycles, skateboards lasted forever, the economy would crumble. Not everyone can/will work on their bikes. Faults/failures are part of the plan to get you to say, "I've had enough of this ****, I'll just buy a new one." Add to that the competence, or lack thereof, of the shop tech working on your bike, and you open up a whole new arena of why some things don't last long.
