I purchased a 2018 FLHXS with a 107 this fall that is completely stock with just a smidge over 10k miles on it.
This is the newest and quietest HD I've ever owned and I'm kind of digging it. It's also the first HD I've ever owned where my ears don't ring if I forget to put in ear plugs. I still have a '03 FXDX in my garage with a Thunderheader for when I want to rip around and make noise.
Being honest with where I ride, I tend to hang out at 3k to 4.5k RPM or so 95% of the time and I very rarely have a passenger.
I want to go through the bike and upgrade the oil pump to the 2020+ version.
This is what I'm thinking:
- SE 55mm aluminum intake manifold
- FM AC/DC air cleaner (with stock cover on it)
- SE adjustable push rods
- HD 2020+ oil pump installed with factory oil plate
- Feuling lifters
- Zippers RS468 cam
- Leave the factory exhaust (header and mufflers) completely alone
- Power Vision with a dyno tune by Bob Lobenberg at RC Cycles in Hayward
Theoretically, I should have good power through the whole range, the cam will louden it up a tad with nice lope, but shouldn't be deafening...and it will still look totally stock.
I have a set of SE Street Cannons (the latest version with the laser engraved logos) I picked up for super cheap that I could put on it if I felt the need, but I kind of doubt I will.
Your power will be hindered by the stock exhaust. I would add 5.5 injectors and a S&S cam chain tensioner. I have the RS 468 on two of my bikes and it is a great performer with lots of low end torque with the right exhaust.
Well, I called and spoke to Zippers today. They said keep the stock headpipe with the cat, but said use different muffler/slip-on such that is a little less restrictive, such as the SE Street Cannons that I bought.

Why bigger injectors? Are the stock ones that marginal on a cammed 107?
I had basically the same build on my 2017 RGS. I did decat the head pipe and I bought stock mufflers with the Fullsac 2 cores welded in. They are not much louder than stock, but flow much better. These are not advertised on the Fulsac website. You will have to call them and they will want your cores. The 5.5 injectors might give you a few more hp, but you wont need them unless youre racing. Good luck with the build.
