Öhlins has just released a Black Line 12” emulsified non compression/rebound adjustable shock. This new series has a jet on top of the shaft that will negate the effects of the small ripple type bumps just like the 13 ¼” (approximately) long shocks I have been custom valving for Dyna’s & Baggers for a year or so now. This is a relatively inexpensive shocks. These shocks use the pin wrench type spring pre-load collars like the HD-772. You can call me for details on how they work.
Öhlins has just released a fully adjustable NIX 22mm cartridge system for 49mm 2014~2016 Baggers, pricing is the same as the FKC-102. The cartridges have compression on one side & Rebound on the other + spring pre-load on both sides. These, just as the FKC-102's, will not work on the new 2017~Current "Premium" Bending reed forks.
I am beginning to look at better front suspension for my 2016 Street Glide...how do the new NIX 22mm cartridges compare with the FKC-102? What are the differences I want to know about to make an informed decision?
The difference between the FKC-102 (25mm non adjustable) and a NIX 22 which is compression, rebound, and spring pre-load is they are 3 way adjustable and have a 22mm piston. The adjustments are are through the top of the fork cap. All have the "Sport" valving and none have a Road & Track valving type system. The price is the same on either of the aforementioned 22mm or 25mm piston and the R&T costs 2x as the Sport. That is wholesale. If more clarification is needed, just call me.
