Awhile back (4-8-2007) I posted a question about highway 36 in Kansas. Since then my wife and I made the trip through there. Got to meet some real nice people in Phillipsburg, KS, also on our return trip meet some nice people in Red Cloud, NE. It takes a little longer to travel the two lane roads, but I think the rewards out weight the time. Stopping and talking to people in the small towns and staying in the mom and pop motels was great. We traveled Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Nebraska, Iowa, and Illinois. A total of 3700 miles and great time. For those of you that live in these states, Thanks, and enjoy your state, we did.

quad50...I returned to Colorado via 36 (Pony Express Hwy) on the way back from a 3500 mile trip to the east. For me, it was a great ride. I would get off the highway and visit towns five miles away. The ride is the destination imo.
Was great to meet you wonderful folks and be able to put a face with a name for members here on the board. Hope our town and county provided you with great service and scenery. Glad to hear the trip went well and you had a safe trip. Enjoy!
