Red River Run
Any one been to the Red River Run N.M.?Was thinking about cruising down there but none of us have been to it or heard much about it.Very little about on you tube looks to be kinda low key which is what we kinda like.Looks like some nice country to ride and it is only a coupla hundred miles from here.Just an idea we been toying with abd thought someone here has taken in this run ,let me know if it is worth it to plan a trip or not?
We went last year from Texas. Spent the day at the rally and a couple of days riding. There is some very good riding in the area. It was COLD last year. Low 30's and a few snow flakes.....
Actually, the night before we went, we stayed in Santa Fe and after spending the day at the rally, we rode on to Raton. Normal rates at both places since they are far enough away from the rally...
Me and some buddies made the Red River Run about 5 years ago. It was good. Not too many people, not too few. We camped in one of the state parks in the area, ... Yup it was COLD! (at night) the days were great. Sunny & warmish.
The riding was great, they have a real nice Veterans memorial in the area that you dont want to miss. I forget the name of the road , but I think it was called the "circle of Enchantment" it was a 40 mile ride through the surrounding mountian tops, beautiful area!! ( I'm from Kansas, pretty flat here)
Anyway, there was a fair amount of vendors, live music, the people were all good, lots of beer! Made a long week-end out of it and I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10, mostly for the gorgeous riding.
I'd go agian .

If you get on it right away you can secure rooms in Trinidad or Raton...they fill up fast. Trinidad has two or three new hotels and is about a two hour ride from Red River. You're from Wyoming so I don't need to tell you what to wear...but it will rain or snow at any time.
