We roll through 29 Palms and then Amboy and up to the 40. It is a nice off highway route. It takes longer, but I really enjoy the "side roads" in the middle of nowhere.
I think this is how we go. Sometimes we skip the 40 as much as possible. We take out sweet time getting there as it is vacation! If anyone wants to roll with us you are more than welcome to. We usually meet in Beaumont at 7am for breakfast. My map did not work. Oh well.
